If you want to study seafood production, you will learn about what’s needed to produce high quality seafood. A typical study takes four years – with two years in school and two years of training in a business. After completing the education, you will receive a certificate of apprenticeship in seafood production.

I work at Astafjord Slakteri (processing plant), in the station for packing production.
My day starts with preparing my uniform consisting of clothes, gloves and boots. Before we start work it`s very important to follow the rules for hygiene. Throughout the day I change between the packing station, to printing of labels, sorting fish and monitoring the ice machine. After finished day, I make sure my working station is neat and clean before I put the work clothes for wash. What I like most about my job is that I’m respected as a worker and as a human being. I have good working conditions and I’m allowed to have my own opinions. I also have nice colleagues.
