Diver

If you want to be a diver  you have a desire to work underwater in an exciting and varied environment. The education course varies greatly, but it is an advantage to have certificate of apprenticeship within a field like construction for instance. Then you can take supplementary education as a professional diver, a course-based education that requires experience and a certain number of dives.

General manager at SJ Dykk AS

Stig Johnsen

I am the general manager of SJ Dykk, a diving company located in Harstad.
A typical day for me starts with a morning meeting at 7.00, where all the divers meet and we distribute the work assignments of the day.
Occasionally I’m in the office all day, but usually I`m out on diving assignments for the aquaculture industry. The work assignments consist of checking nets in sea pens, anchor lines and other underwater work.

The best thing about my job is that it`s versatile. We get a lot of different work requests, that need to be solved in different types of weather. By working in this profession we get to meet many creative and nice people who work in the aquaculture industry.
