Kristian Bredahl

I work for Kleiva Fiskefarm as an aquaculture technician.
A typical day for me includes daily operations at the facility I am located at. I make sure that all routines and procedures are followed throughout the day. This implies, among other thinngs, maintenance of feeding equipment and daily rounds on the sea pen.

Fish welfare is the key to a healthy and robust fish, which will also give a better quality. At the facility I am now, we have lumpfish (cleaner fish) as well as lice-skirts to prevent sea lice from getting inside the pen. In addition, we will place lice lasers in the pens. A combination of these may prevent further treatment of the fish.
